Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DOES LIFE COACHING DIFFER FROM THERAPY OR CONSULTING?
While therapy is focused largely on the past and healing (and should be done with a trained, qualified professional), life coaching focuses on the future and who you’re becoming, not just who you’ve been.
Other services like mentoring and consulting are useful when you’re looking for someone to do the work or give you a prescribed list of things to do.
In a coaching setting, you’re broadening your awareness and making plans that are specific and unique to you.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Coaching with me begins at $125 for a single one hour session, with monthly & customized options available producing the greatest results and highest value.
DO I REALLY NEED A COACH?
If it were up to me, everyone would work with a coach. I have personally experienced the transformative power of coaching, and believe in it enough to make it my full time job.
At the end of the day, we can all either face our journey alone, or lean in to the resources available to us to help get us where we’re going.
HOW DID YOU BECOME A COACH?
I had been coaching my friends, colleagues, and (I don’t recommend this) romantic partners for as long as I can remember. Without knowing it, I was learning how to be a coach each time I asked a really juicy question instead of giving what I thought was the right answer.
Finally, once 2020 rolled around and I had a bit of extra time on my hands, I enrolled in the John Maxwell Team Coach Training. Having always looked up to “Uncle John Maxwell,” I knew his leadership focused training wast the right program for me.
HOW DOES A COACHING SESSION WORK?
Every client and every session is a little different, but they’re all informed by the same principles:
• The answer is always within the client (you)
• A coach does more listening than talking
• The client creates the agenda (but don’t worry, we have a template to work from!)
I take a mix approach, because I’ve always been a bit of a rule-breaker and have lived outside the lines.
People hire me because in part because they need someone to listen and hold them accountable, and also because I’ve done the work and transformed my own life.
I’m a self-development junkie, and you can bet there’s going to be a bit of a mentorship sprinkled in along the way. If I’ve heard something juicy that I can’t wait to apply in my own life, I know I need to share it.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM WORKING WITH A COACH?
While I’m not going to make any promises here, I can say is that you can expect a greater degree of clarity, focus, and accountability.
Long story short:
You can expect to GET [SH]IT DONE.
